I have been taking pictures for over 40 years, but it is only in the last seven years that I have dedicated myself exclusively to professional photography.

Previously, I was involved in various aspects of the "art world.” I studied glass blowing at Carnegie Mellon University and later taught it at the Ivy School of Arts. I was president of the Pittsburgh Craftsman's Guild and also gallery director for the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. In the mid 1970s, my wife Carole and I were Gringo Traders, traveling throughout Central and South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia and seeking artifacts to bring back to the USA for distribution. As a direct result, we started a retail gallery and store named Ten Continents.  Later, together, we founded Rainbow Mills, a textile corporation that continues to furnish fine quality hand-made and hand-dyed yarns to the hand-knitting industry.  My crafts have been featured at leading arts festivals, including Sugarloaf and Howard Allen Art Festivals, and at better galleries, boutiques, and museum shops, including the shop at The Smithsonian.

Since dedicating myself full-time to photography, I find that my subject matter and interests have become increasingly eclectic. Wild life photography remains a passion for me, and so does traveling. Wherever I am – from Panama to Italy, Ireland to the U.S. Southwest – I see “art” all around me.
I hope you enjoy my photos and the world as I see it.
